Andreia Morris Mendes is a dual-qualified lawyer in Timor-Leste and Portugal, with a solid background in Administrative Law, Tax Law, Commercial Law, and Litigation. Her practice is marked by her analytical rigor and consistent involvement in complex legal disputes and regulatory matters.
Andreia joined JLA in 2020, where she advises both public and private sector clients across a range of contentious and non-contentious matters. Before relocating to Timor-Leste, she practiced law in Portugal for several years, initially in individual practice and later as a lawyer at CMB – Sociedade de Advogados, RL, where she developed a particular focus on tax and administrative litigation, as well as corporate advisory work.
Andreia holds a LL.B from the Portuguese Catholic University – Porto School of Law, and a Master’s Degree in Judiciary Law from the University of Minho. She also completed two postgraduate programmes: one in Tax Law (University of Minho) and another in Company Tax Law (University of Coimbra), reinforcing her expertise in fiscal and corporate legal frameworks.
